Stamps of Communist Romania

Communist Romania refers to the period in Romanian history (1947-1989) when that country was a dictatorship in the Eastern Bloc led by the Romanian Communist Party, the sole legal party. Officially, the country was called the Romanian People's Republic (Romanian: Republica Populară Romînă; RPR; RP Romina) from 1947 to 1965, and the Socialist Republic of Romania (Republica Socialistă România; RSR) from 1965 to 1989.
