The Republic of Hungary (Magyar Köztársaság, literally Hungarian Republic), is a landlocked country in the Carpathian Basin of Central Europe. Its capital is Budapest. Hungary is one of the oldest countries in Europe. It was settled in 896, before France and Germany became separate entities, and before the unification of Anglo-Saxon kingdoms. Medieval Hungary controlled more territory than medieval France, and the population of medieval Hungary was the third largest of any country in Europe. Hungary held its first multi-party elections in 1990, following four decades of Communist rule, and has succeeded in transforming its centrally planned economy into a market economy. Both foreign ownership of and foreign investment in Hungarian firms are widespread. These stamps of Hungary are for sale. Please contact me via email if you are interested in buying these stamps.
